Stain of Affection
Love is instant and drawn-out
Through another’s eyes we travel to Heaven
Experiencing the joys of many firsts
Each kiss leaves blue stardust on our cheeks
We glow with joy as we become alike
Dancing to commercials in the background
As hummed voices chirp with each step we take.
Nothing in the universe is as colorful as
The aura our union has created that touches
The trees, ground, sky, water, and other people
It is a permanent marker, drawing our story,
Golden ink that stains everything, even time,
Whether we last forever, or the pen runs out
The stain of our affection will always be there.
